Playwriting alum Zachariah Ezer (M.F.A. 2023) is among Dramatists Guild Foundation's inaugural cohort of Catalyst Fellows. This fellowship supports theatre artists as they develop projects that "imagine equity, social justice and change" in the theatre industry.

Alumnus Chase Bringardner (Ph.D. 2007) was recently named Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Auburn University. He steps into this leadership role after nearly 15 years as a member of the faculty, including time as chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Faculty member Dr. Lisa B. Thompson spoke with Texas Connect about her new play The Black Feminist Guide to the Human Body, which she has been workshopping as the 23/24 Texas Performing Arts x Fusebox Artist in Residence.

Faculty member Roxanne Schroeder-Arce and alum Kristin Leahey (Ph.D. 2012) were inducted as full members of the National Theatre Conference, a collective of influential artists in educational, commercial and non-commercial theatre.

Libby Carr (B.A. 2021) is among Ensemble Studio Theatre's newest cohort of Youngblood playwrights. They join returning Youngblood members Renae Jarrett (M.F.A. 2021) and Danny Tejera (M.F.A. 2020), who started with the program in the 22/23 season. 

Ground Floor Theatre presents the world premiere of Jack & Aiden, with book and additional lyrics by Lane Michael Stanley (M.F.A. 2020). This musical also features work by intimacy director Andy Grapko (faculty), costume designer Aaron Kubacak (M.F.A. 2019) and workshop stage manager Jeremy Canales (B.A. 2022).

Jasmine Games (M.F.A. 2022) published her first book of poetry, Somebody's Daughter, with the Black Spring Press Group. This collection of poems previously earned Games the 2021 Sexton Prize for Poetry.
