Parking Garages

Visitors are welcome to park at UT parking garages for events (unless signs indicate otherwise). A map of parking garages can be found here. Rates may vary.

No permit is required to park in the garages; just pull a ticket on your way in and process it at the exit, a paystation, or the garage office before you leave. Fees are calculated based on the amount of time you are in the garage. Garage daily parking offers the closest, most convenient spaces to all areas of the university for visitors.

Discounted Parking

Discounted parking is available for purchase in advance (by midnight the night prior to your selected event) at utparking.clickandpark.com/ Select the location of your event (F. Loren Winship Dram Building for performances in the Oscar G. Brockett Theatre or the B. Iden Payne Theatre, and Lab Theatre for performances in the Lab Theatre) and follow instructions to complete your purchase. Parking will be in Lot 53, located off San Jacinto Blvd on the North side of Dean Keeton St. behind the Engineering Teaching Center (map).

Street Parking

Street parking closest to the F. Loren Winship Drama Building can be found along Dean Keeton St. Visitors are advised to park closest to the intersection of San Jacinto Blvd. and Dean Keeton St. in order to park as close as possible to the Winship Building.

Surface Parking and Lots

All surface parking lots as well as street parking require permits specific to the area from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Outside of these hours, most spaces require any university permit with limited spaces open for parking without a permit. Caution: Read signs carefully. Each surface parking lot is signed at the entrance and further restrictions are usually designated within the lot.

Accessible Parking

More information about available disability parking including parking locations is available here

Ride Share

Arriving by ride share is strongly encouraged during high-traffic event days. Lyft is the official partner of The University of Texas at Austin. Learn more about how to ride safe with Lyft.

Carshare

The University of Texas at Austin has partnered with Zipcar, which can be rented by the hour or by day. University faculty, staff and students age 18+ are eligible for discounted hourly rates.

Bikes

MetroBike offers a convenient option for bicyclists to get around campus and the city without having to buy or maintain their own bicycle. Stations are set up throughout campus and the city, and students, faculty and staff get membership at a heavily discounted rate. Students, faculty and staff of the University can also register a bike online to improve the chances of getting it back should it be impounded, lost or stolen.

Scooters

Scooters (Bird, personal scooters (EPAMD devices) are approved to operate on campus only in those areas where bicycles are permitted. Scooters are required to follow all traffic control devices such as stop signs, yield to pedestrians, and adhere to the campus speed limit. To avoid impound fees and citations, scooters should only park in designated areas or at bicycle racks.
