Madilynn Garcia selected for Rising Leader of Color theatre program

Department of Theatre and Dance alumna Madilynn Garcia was selected to participate in Rising Leader of Color, a program sponsored by Theatre Communications Group. The honor includes year-long curriculum designed to provide professional development and networking opportunities.

Recent graduate David Molina Garza (M.F.A. 2017) received the bronze medal at the World Stage Design Exhibition (Taipei, Taiwan) for his scenic design of The Dialogues of the Carmelites (Butler Opera Center). The World Stage Design Exhibition features the best in global performance design from around the world.

Austin's Rude Mechs, under chief writer and co-producing artistic director Kirk Lynn (faculty) recently bid farewell to the Off Center with a special final performance of Not Every Mountain, highlighted in American Theatre by Ph.D. candidate, Russell Dembin. The performance featured several alumni from Frank Wo/Men Collective.
