Ahead of its spring staging at UTNT (UT New Theatre), Lydia Blaisdell's The Silent Woman recently won the Kentucky Women Writers Conference Prize for Women Playwrights. 

Alumnus Andrew Hinderaker's (M.F.A. 2013) Colossal was featured in American Theatre Magazine's discussion of disabilities in the arts, focusing on theatres inclusion of actors with disabilities, not just for roles with cast defined as disabled, but for all roles.

Opening October 8, The Diary of Anne Frank is the centerpiece for a two-day symposium, both which commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps.

Theatre and Dance faculty member Francie Ostrower recently received a $3.5 million-dollar grant from The Wallace Foundation to study how performing arts organizations can develop approaches to attract new audiences.
