Student-Imagined. Student-Led. Student-Produced.
For one whole week, The Cohen New Works Festival at The University of Texas at Austin celebrates original, multidisciplinary artistic work created by the students of UT and showcased all around campus. Watch as classrooms, lecture halls and outdoor spaces are transformed into stages, exhibits, installations and more. Student artists are encouraged to bring their bold ideas to fruition, whatever medium they may be, and put them on display for the Austin community at large. This is more than just a festival – this is where New Meets Now!

Auditions - January 22 and 23, 2025
Auditions for The Cohen New Works Festival projects are open for UT students only and will take place in the B. Iden Payne Theatre.
Students interested in auditioning can sign up at the link below. For the audition, please prepare a 2-3 minute version of anything from the Audition Menu.
If you have multiple skills, you can share a one-minute sample from each. For example, an actor-dancer could first give a one-minute monologue and then share one minute of a dance sequence. You can fill your time however you feel would best show off your skills.
Can't Attend Auditions? No Problem!
Send in a 2-3 minute self tape to nwfapplications@utexas.edu before Friday, January 24.
Performer Meet-and-Greet - January 21, 2025
UT students: Want to know more about the projects before you audition? Attend the Performer Meet-and-Greet, Tuesday, January 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the B. Iden Payne Theatre.
Project Leads will share details about their projects and will then disperse throughout the room. Performers can go talk to Leads individually, ask questions, and express interest. These one-on-one conversations will help both performers and project leads get to know each other.
