Graduate Program Tuition

One hundred percent of Department of Theatre and Dance graduate students receive some form of financial support in one or more of the following ways: departmental aid in the form of scholarships, fellowships and assistantships; fellowships administered by the Office of Graduate Studies; need-based financial aid administered by the Office of Student Financial Services, and outside funding or employment.

Tuition

Tuition costs for Texas residents are among the lowest of all 50 states, and nonresident tuition costs compare favorably with those of other institutions. Tuition rates and fees are subject to change each year. Review current tuition information.

Department of Theatre and Dance Funding

Department funding is typically based on students' grades and overall merit. Each program of study determines funding awards differently. Please contact the area head of program for specific information about funding.

Financial Aid

For students who need additional financial support beyond fellowships and assistantships, financial aid is available. Graduate students may apply for federal, state and institutional financial aid programs administered by the Office of Student Financial Services

Graduate students who are eligible for Federal PLUS Loans as independent students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You should submit the FAFSA as soon as you have filed your admission application and completed your federal tax return. It is strongly recommended that you do not wait for an admission decision before filing.

Even if you do not plan to take out student loans, completing the FAFSA is still important, as it may qualify you for need-based funding, including grants and scholarships. To be considered for need-based aid, applicants should submit the FAFSA by the priority deadline of January 15.
