Alum Lands Voice-Over Role in Chainsaw Man

Alum Reagan Murdock (B.A. 2018) will voice one of the leading roles in the upcoming English dub of the anime Chainsaw Man. He'll attend the first episode's dubbed premiere in October, 2022 ahead of the series' release at a later date.

Texas Theatre and Dance is pleased to present …but you could’ve held my hand by JuCoby Johnson, directed by Braxton Rae. This unique play focuses on four friends who meet as children. Little do they know, they will become the center of each other’s lives for decades to come.  Jumping through time, we see these people only during important life moments such as prom, funerals, weddings, anniversaries and even divorces. …but you could’ve held my hand uses dance, music and poetry to explore sexuality, gender, race, love and blackness in a beautiful meditation on how love manifests in our lives as we experience life’s ups and downs. On stage at the Oscar G. Brockett Theatre October 6-16, 2022.

Associate Dean Raquel Monroe Receives 2022 Mid-Career Award from Dance Studies Association

Raquel Monroe, professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance and associate dean for graduate education and academic affairs in the UT College of Fine Arts, recently received a major award from the Dance Studies Association. In August, Monroe was honored with the 2022 Mid-Career Award, which recognizes leadership of mid-career scholars in the development of the dance studies field.

Alum Will Davis Joins Faculty at Carnegie Mellon

Alum Will Davis (M.F.A. 2013) has recently joined the faculty at Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama in the John Wells Directing Program. They will be working under former Theatre and Dance department chair Robert Ramirez, who now serves as the head of Carnegie Mellon's School of Drama.
