Read about the UT Theatre and Dance artists involved in ZACH Theatre's hilarious dramatic comedy

ZACH Theatre's hilarious and high-energy production of The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity features creative contributions by faculty, students and alumni of the Department of Theatre and Dance. 

Presented as part of their 2022/2023 season, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity follows a man who dreams of becoming a successful professional wrestler and the lengths he'll go to make these dreams a reality. Along the way, this dramatic comedy by playwright Kristoffer Diaz touches on themes of racism, politics and courage. Bringing the audience into the spectacle of the wrestling ring is a creative team featuring multiple UT Theatre and Dance artists, including:

  • Inseung Park (M.F.A. 2005) - Scenic Designer
  • Bill Rios (M.F.A. 2021) - Lighting Designer
  • Sarah Jean Elliott (current M.F.A. candidate) - Lighting Design Assistant
  • Jonathan Amezcua (current B.A. student) - Lighting Design Assistant
  • Phillip Own (faculty) - Sound Designer
  • Elias Merlo (current B.A. student) - Sound Design Assistant
  • John Erickson (current M.F.A. candidate) - Video Designer
  • Jackson Cobb (current M.F.A. candidate) - Video Programmer
  • Rusty Cloyes (faculty) - Stage Manager
  • Aly Redland (current B.A. student) - Assistant Stage Manager
