Professor Charles Otte is the staging associate for the revival of Robert Wilson’s Einstein on the Beach, an unconventional opera recognized by many as “one of the truly pivotal artworks of our time” (Newsweek). Now in the midst of a yearlong international tour, the Wilson and Phillip Glass (composer) collaboration first premiered in 1976 at the Avignon Festival in France. Otte joined the production team as the stage manager during the 1984 remount at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).

Upcoming performances of Einstein on the Beach will be held at BAM (September) and at the University of California, Berkeley (October). Then, Einstein on the Beach will be going international. Tickets go fast, so plan now to see this masterpiece!
