Teatro Vivo, one of the cornerstones of the Austin theatre community, is hosting the 2024 Austin Latinx New Play Festival, featuring work by many alumni and students from the Department of Theatre and Dance. Now in its 14th year, this annual festival showcasing new works by Latinx theatre artists.
This year's festival will take place at ZACH Theatre on April 25-27, 2024. Current M.F.A. candidate Mateo Hernandez is serving as the festival manager, while faculty member Roxanne Schroeder-Arce takes on the role of supervising dramaturg. Teatro Vivo has also worked closely with Nat Miller (M.F.A. 2008) as one of their ZACH Theatre Liaisons to help make this year's festival happen.
