In Prague to complete her studies in photojournalism, recent graduate J Elissa Marshall rounded out her European adventure with a trip to Spain to perform with El Colegio del Cuerpo in the International Festival of Music of Dance of Granada.

The Department of Theatre and Dance, Texas Performing Arts and El Colegio del Cuerpo, worked together during the 2009-2010 academic year to create an original piece for the department's annual spring dance concert. “The Rope: Tres Momentos” was performed in March 2010 as part of Canción del Cuerpo (Song of the Body), and featured five dancers from The University of Texas at Austin and five Colombian dancers from El Colegio del Cuerpo.

From Marshall's blog:
"Perhaps I should explain why I am going to Granada. This past year the UT dance department collaborated with a Colombian dance company called El Colegio del Cuerpo. They will be performing in Granada this week in the International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada. When I heard about that I really wanted to visit them since I'd already be in Europe. Then when Marie France, co-director of the company, heard I'd be there she asked if I'd dance in one of their works. And so, here I find myself on the road to Granada. Spain is beautiful! (And then Spanish men are even more beautiful still!) So, the Prague chapter may be over, but stay tuned as I continue my European adventure in Spain!"
