The Mountain: A Journey from Self to Summit

Created by M.F.A. Candidate (Integrated Media) Jon Haas, The Mountain is an immersive installation that empowers individuals to confront and embody the hero’s journey. Crafted from a personal experience climbing high altitude volcanoes in the Pacific Cascades, motion tracking sensors and extensive production design, the 500-seat B. Iden Payne Theatre is transformed into a multimedia arena that reacts to your presence. Participants will traverse a formidable environment and find themselves at the center of their own quest to dispel the darkness gathering on the horizon.

The Mountain is a single-entry, non-ticketed event. Admission is free and is first-come first-serve. Entrance to the installation is located in the B. Iden Payne Lobby within the F. Loren Winship Drama Building.

Installation Hours: January 25-29 at 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Opening Reception: January 26 at 7:00 p.m.
