Dr. Paul Bonin-Rodriguez, associate professor of the Performance Public Practice program, has been invited to attend the History of Capitalism Summer Camp, a two-week intensive workshop on economic methods for historians.

Undergraduate Academic Advisor to Receive Regents' Outstanding Employee Award

Mark-Anthony Zuniga, undergraduate academic advisor for the Department of Theatre and Dance, has been named one of three University of Texas at Austin employees to receive the Regents' Outstanding Employee Award, which recognizes full-time, non-faculty employees who have shown outstanding performance, innovation, enthusiasm and dedication to their job. The award ceremony will take place May 14, 2018.

Brant Pope Named a Fellow by the College of Fellows of the American Theatre

Presented as one of the highest honors bestowed on educators and professionals of America's educational and theatre community, he will be inducted in a ceremony on April 15 in Washington, D.C. 

Three New Plays Take the Stage as part of UTNT (UT New Theatre)

Established in 2007 by nationally renowned playwright Steven Dietz, UTNT (UT New Theatre) is an annual showcase of newly developed works for the American stage from playwrights of the Department of Theatre and Dance's master of fine arts program and Michener Center for Writers. Now in its eleventh year, UTNT brings to the stage compelling works by Paz Pardo (Milton, MI), Drew Paryzer (Loverboy) and Travis Tate (MotherWitch). 

Dance Repertory Theatre Returns to the Stage in Transcendence

Under the direction of Charles O. Anderson and Andrea Beckham, Dance Repertory Theatre returns to the stage in Transcendence, a celebration of the life and work of Dr. Yacov Sharir. Featuring works by nationally renowned artists including Rennie Harris, Yacov Sharir, Madison Hicks, Andee Scott and Andrea Beckham, Transcendence also marks the inaugural year of a celebration of the life and art of Haruka Weiser through a new work commissioned in her name.

Faculty member Roxanne Schroeder-Arce's play Yana Wana's Legend of the Bluebonnet premiere's at Dallas Children's Theatre this March. The legacy of the Coahuiltecans, who originated in Texas, has virtually been erased, but this co-production with Cara Mía Theatre Company revives their legacy through the story of a young girl connecting with her heritage. On stage March 23 - April 8, 2018.
