Resident student dance company, Dance Repertory Theatre at Texas Theatre and Dance presents EMERGE, an exploration of themes of emergence through a reflection on history that imagines a way forward, elevating the inventiveness and interconnectivity of moving art forms. Featuring the work of professional and student choreographers, EMERGE will also feature the return of the Haruka Weiser Commission. On stage at the B. Iden Payne Theatre March 1-5, 2023.

Costume faculty member Rachel Barreto recently created beautiful costumes for a recent production of Laughs in Spanish, presented by the Denver Centre for the Performing Arts in January 2023. 

Filigree Theatre is set to stage a production of Fire in Dreamland February 2-12 2023, starring current M.F.A. student Allen Porterie as one of three primary characters.

Performance as Public Practice M.A. candidate Rebecca Fitton satirizes western democracy through the medium of dance with her piece Best Practices, published in Etudes journal.

Kate Freer recently lent her design expertise to Ride the Cyclone, produced by Arena Stage January 2023. 

The National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico (CONACYT) has granted Performance as Public Practice P.H.D. candidate Jessica L. Peña Torres a prestigious national fellowship. This prize is designed to support innovative research undertaken by Mexican nationals based in foreign countries; scholars from numerous universities apply for this financial aid, which aims to incubate Mexican academic prowess throughout the world.
