Leo Briggs

HE / THEY / THEM

Learn more about Leo Briggs, a movement artist, choreographer and M.F.A in Dance candidate.

Leo Briggs is a dance artist and scholar who focuses on dance-making practices and discourses around gender deviance and transsexuality. He is currently pursuing a M.F.A. in Dance at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is developing a performance practice of alien abduction as a way to understand transsexuality, hyper(in)visibility and the power of fantasy. Prior to this, Briggs was a 2022 Arts & Social Justice Fellow at Emory University in Atlanta, where he spent several years working as an independent choreographer and performer. After completing his M.F.A., Leo hopes for a job that allows him to keep playing, asking questions and making silly transsexual art.
