Leo Briggs is a movement artist and choreographer whose work imagines dance as a vehicle for queer and trans liberation. They graduated summa cum laude from Emory University in 2019 with a B.A. in Dance & Movement Studies and Chemistry. Briggs was a freelance professional dancer in Atlanta, Georgia, working with artists such as Okwae A. Miller, Nathan Griswold (Fly on a Wall) and Corian Ellisor. Most recently, he collaborated with Atlanta-based writer HG Gruebmeyer on an evening-length concert called Lavender Hill, which premiered at 7 Stages Theatre in June 2023. They are a first-year student pursuing their M.F.A. in Dance at The University of Texas Austin.
