Employment Opportunity: Residential Mentors and Supervisors for ABT Summer Intensive

The Department of Theatre and Dance is currently seeking prospective residential mentors and supervisors for the 2020 American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive at The University of Texas at Austin. These are paid positions that work closely with the department and the American Ballet Theatre program. The application process for these staff members has begun and will be open through March 23, 2020.

Given the urgency of the situation regarding COVID-19, the recommendations from leadership at The University of Texas at Austin, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), it is with great consideration and sadness that we have made the difficult decision to suspend the remainder of our Spring 2020 Season indefinitely. This suspension applies to mainstage season performances, studio productions and all public events at the department for the remainder of the semester.

The University of Texas at Austin has suspended operations and all remaining performances of UTNT (UT New Theatre) have been canceled as of Friday, March 13. Information about campus closures and operational changes are available on the university's website. Additional information pertaining to the Department of Theatre and Dance will be posted as they become available.

UTNT (UT New Theatre) Returns for 13th Season

The University of Texas Department of Theatre and Dance at Austin presents UTNT (UT New Theatre), March 4-13, 2020 in multiple locations throughout the F. Loren Winship Drama Building. Established in 2007 by nationally renowned playwright Steven Dietz, UTNT (UT New Theatre) is an annual showcase of newly developed works for the American stage from playwrights of the Department of Theatre and Dance’s master of fine arts program and Michener Center for Writers. Now in its thirteenth year, UTNT brings to the stage compelling works by ascending playwrights.
