The Department of Theatre and Dance is currently seeking prospective residential mentors and supervisors for the 2020 American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive at The University of Texas at Austin. These are paid positions that work closely with the department and the American Ballet Theatre program.
The application process for these staff members has begun and will be open through February 29, 2020.
The American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive is a four-week program geared toward talented young dancers ages 12-18. Residential staff (mentors and supervisors) live in the university dormitory and assist and accompany the dancers in each step of the program, making sure that their needs and concerns are met - and most importantly, helping them have a great time. For the 2020 Summer Intensive, the Department of Theatre and Dance is seeking to hire 18 residential mentors and 2 supervisors.
Dates of Service
Program Dates: July 6-31, 2020
Residential Mentor Dates of Service: July 1 – August 1, 2020
Residential Supervisor Dates of Service: June 29-August 2, 2020
We are seeking mentors and supervisors who have experience in dance and/or theatre; however, it is not a requirement. Other preferred qualities include knowledge or study in the fields of kinesiology, recreation and leisure management, education, and/or management. A candidate's experience working with young people, their enthusiasm and responsible character are the primary qualifications we will looking for in our selection process.
Applicants must be eligible to work in U.S. and will be subject to a background check.
