Dr. Paul Bonin-Rodriguez, associate professor of Performance as Public Practice, discusses the modern value of a degree in fine art and the importance of creative degree programs as an incubator for new ideas. 

Austin's Rude Mechs, under chief writer and co-producing artistic director Kirk Lynn (faculty) recently bid farewell to the Off Center with a special final performance of Not Every Mountain, highlighted in American Theatre by Ph.D. candidate, Russell Dembin. The performance featured several alumni from Frank Wo/Men Collective. 

Alumnus Abe Koogler’s (M.F.A. 2014) latest play, Fulfillment Center, was recently reviewed by The New York Times, which described it as “finding poetry in missed connections.” The play runs off-Broadway through July 9.

The 2017 Kilroys List features work by alumna Kimber Lee (To The Yellow House) (M.F.A. 2011), with honorable mention of Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig's (M.F.A. 2009) The King of Hell's Palace. The Kilroys feature underproduced plays by female and trans writers.

Charles O. Anderson, head of dance, was recently recognized as one of the 2017/18 Creation and Development Fund recipients by the National Performance Network for his project (Re)current Unrest which explores African American cultural and historical experience through a multi-media dance piece. 

Poor Boys’ Chorus by Brian Kettler (M.F.A. 2015) is one of 20 plays selected from more than 200 submissions to be a part of Broadway Bound Theatre Festival’s inaugural season in New York City this August.
