Associate Professor and Dance Unit Head, Lyn C. Wilthsire, and Theater for Youth Chair and Distinguished Teaching Professor, Suzan Zeder, have been selected to receive the 2008-09 Department of Theatre and Dance Teaching Excellence Award.
Third year M.F.A. in costume design candidate, Ariana Schwartz, has been awarded the prestigious Zelma H. Weisfeld Costume Design and Technology Award. Presented by the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), The Zelma H. Weisfeld Costume Design & Technology Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated excellence or outstanding potential in the areas of costume design or technology in the performing arts while pursuing a graduate degree.
In Austin to accept a Texas Film Hall of Fame Award from the Austin Film Society, San Antonio born actor, Bruce McGill (B.F.A. Drama '73) spent Thursday's lunch hour sharing experiences and wisdom with students, faculty and staff from the Department of Theatre and Dance.
