Kevin Adams

Kevin Adams (B.F.A., Theatrical Design, 1984) to light new Avett Brothers musical and "Aida" at the Met

Renowned lighting designer Kevin Adams is set to illuminate a range of performances in the coming months. Adams is currently preparing to light the new Avett Brothers musical Swept Away, and in December he will design the lighting for the new production of Aida at the Met Opera. Other recent work includes lighting design for the opera Grounded, by Jeanine Tesori and with a libretto by George Brant (M.F.A., Play Writing, 2008).

In 2016, the college honored Adams with the E. William Doty Distinguished Alumnus Award.

This fall, Ryan Belock (Integrated Media MFA '15) joined the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Conservatory as an Assistant Professor of Digital and Immersive Media, bringing with him a wealth of experience as a projection designer, digital storyteller, and creative director.

Stephanie Chiarello (B.A., Theatre and Dance, 1998; M.P.A., Public Affairs, 2008) is the creator, producer and host of Over the Lege, a political satire show based on the Texas Legislature, which returns for its seventh year with Over the Lege Part 7: The Last Laughs!! on Oct. 11-13 at the Scottish Rite Theater.
  
Chiarello describes the show as "a little Saturday Night Live meets The Daily Show meets So You Think You Can Dance." This year's special guests include State Representatives Goodwin, Flores and Howard; pastor Jim Rigby and Senator Wendy Davis.

Amira Pollock, a McCombs School of Business leadership coach and instructor at Center for Professional Education and Extended Campus, leads a two-day Business Improv workshop weaves together case studies, research, and theater improvisation exercises for Texas Extended Campus.
