Marketing Specialist
Katy Wiggins joined the Department of Theatre and Dance in January 2025 as the Marketing Specialist. In collaboration with the Communications Specialist, she develops and executes print and digital content for the department, including managing social media and the website.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Wiggins graduated summa cum laude from Texas State University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Studio Art from Texas State University. Prior to this role, she worked as a writer and editor of social studies textbooks and as an improv teacher at the Hideout Theatre.
She thrives in all aspects of storytelling, particularly in live and audio performance. For the past eight years, she has hosted the podcasts Scary Stories from Camp Roanoke and Nearly Departed, and her guest appearance on the Gals and Goblins podcast was recently nominated for a CRIT Award. A fixture in the Austin improv scene and with training from UCBNY and the Magnet Theatre in New York City, she’s a recurring guest performer with local legends Parallelogramophonograph (PGraph) and Jane Austin Improv. She has worked with the Hideout Theatre in many productions since 2021 and is an ongoing cast member of the weekly short-form improv show The Big Bash as well as the yearly Christmas show Bah! Humbug: Improvised Dickens.
