Desne Wharton is a multimedia designer and artist from Washington, DC. Her designs, films, and installations are centered around capturing the multiplicity of Blackness by way of textured visuals and soundscapes. She is currently a second-year M.F.A. in Theatre candidate with a specialization in live design and production (integrated media for live performance) at The University of Texas at Austin. Desne's mission, through her work in the theater, film, and TV production industries, is to provide representation and mentorship for young black people that brings awareness to careers that are both creative and technical.
