Bio
Michael Shanks began his journey in Theatre at Round Rock High School. After graduating from Texas State University with a degree in English, he realized that the career path for an English major is slightly less interesting than Theatre, so he quickly went back to his roots. He has worked as an Arena Rigger in Melbourne, Australia as well as the Director of Lighting for Florida Grand Opera in Miami before starting at Texas Performing Arts in the summer of 2022. Outside of work he enjoys making pickles, painting and swimming in the ocean
