Join PPP's Fridays@2 speaker series for a conversation with Puerto Rican video and performing artist Dahlia Bloomstone.

The Performance as Public Practice Fridays@2 speaker series facilitates discussions about the creation and study of performance. PPP welcomes artists from within and beyond the Winship Drama Building, including current students, distinguished alumni and arts leaders from across the country, to share their research and methodology. Their fall series kicks off with visiting artist Dahlia Bloomstone, a Puerto Rican video and performing artist.

About Dahlia Bloomstone

Dahlia Bloomstone is a Puerto Rican artist and Hunter College M.F.A. graduate with a B.F.A. from Bard College. She has developed a body of work rooted in video, which has evolved to encompass animation, video games, film, sculpture and performance. Through studies in literature, language, science fiction, fables, memes and internet culture, Bloomstone attempts to reconcile representations of sex work, domesticity, labor, social value and control absent or under-theorized in the film and video-art canon. Bloomstone is currently a Visiting Artist and Adjunct Professor at UT Austin.
