Accessibility (ADA) Requests

Accessibility for In-Person Performances

ADA Seating

Accessible seating is available at all our venues. If you require wheelchair accessibility or have other special seating requests (such as aisle seats or seating in the front or the back of the theatre), please notify the Box Office at the time of your ticket purchase. Guests should note that accessible seating will not always be available at showtime. If you would like to request accessible seating in advance, please contact us here

Oscar G. Brockett Theatre: 2 available ADA seats (more available by request)
B. Iden Payne Theatre: 8 available ADA seats
Lab Theatre: 4 available ADA seats

Parking

Accessible parking is available for drivers who have Department of Public Safety handicapped parking permits or plates along San Jacinto, just north of 23rd Street. More information about parking options is available here.

Sign Interpretation and Other Services

To request sign interpretation, audio description, open caption, assistive listening devices, Braille or large print programs for Texas Theatre and Dance productions, please email us no less than two weeks prior to the event date. Services are not guaranteed for all events, but we will make every effort to accommodate each request.

Audio/Listening Assistance

Now available for all performances in the Oscar G. Brockett and B. Iden Payne Theatres 

The Department of Theatre and Dance offers the option to easily connect to a listening assistance device. Guests may connect to this system through headphones or via cochlear implants that have the ability to connect to a phone or similar device. Please follow the steps below to connect at any performance in the Oscar G. Brockett or B. Iden Payne Theatres. 

  1. Download the waveCAST receiver app (download here). Available for iOS and Android devices. 
  2. Connect to local wifi network WIN_LISTENING_ASSIST (this is a 5Gz only network). 
  3. Open the waveCAST application. 
  4. Once the channels screen, click NEXT to select the WIN_Listening_Assist channel.

Accessibility for Virtual Performances

To request accessible viewing options for virtual performances, please notify us no less than one week prior to the event date. Services are not guaranteed for all events, but we will make every effort to accommodate all requests. Please specify your preferred language when submitting your request so we can make arrangements accordingly.

Please note that virtual accessibility support is only available for performances that take place digitally. Streaming requests and video options for events that only take place in-person cannot be supported at this time.
