The Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to host an array of summer programs for students age 12 and greater.

The American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive is a four-week program designed for middle school and high school-aged student dancers. Taught by faculty from American Ballet Theatre and The University of Texas at Austin, the curriculum includes high level technique and lecture courses supporting the development of a well-rounded dancer.

The Summer Institute: Activating Learning through the Arts is a two-week, eight-day intensive for pre-service and in-service teachers, arts educators and University of Texas at Austin students interested in using drama-based instructional strategies in their educational curriculum.

The only program of its kind in the country, the Texas Musical Theatre Workshop is designed to connect talented high school students with top musical theatre artists and teachers while offering outstanding pre-professional training in acting, singing, dancing, auditioning and performing.

The UT Theatre in Italy program brings theatre to life through creative participation. It takes University of Texas at Austin students out of the classroom and into the piazzas and streets of the breathtaking city of Florence, viewed through the lens of cultural history and live performance.
