Jessica Champion attended St. Edward's University on an acting scholarship from 2003-2007. She was the assistant to the technical director at Mary Moody Northern Theatre from 2004-2007 before choosing to focus on physical approaches to acting such as Suzuki and Viewpoints and worked with members of Anne Bogart's SITI Company throughout the 2000's. She received her B.A. in Theatre in 2007.
After working in local theatre at venues like the Blue, the Off Center and Salvage Vanguard, Champion decided to pursue her teaching certification. She was a High School theatre director in the Austin Independent School District from 2010-2015. In her most recent teaching position at Reagan High School, she grew theatre arts enrollment from 80 to over 200. While teaching, she produced and directed productions of all kinds and continued to perform and direct in the community.
Favorite highlights from her career include Red Cans (Rubber Repertory Theatre), The Vagina Monologues (V-Day Austin), Antigone, Kneeling Down at Noon and Way of the World (Mary Moody Northern Theatre).
