Tenured/Tenure-Track Position in Voice and Speech

The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin seeks a dynamic, experienced, and professionally accomplished voice and text teacher and coach to take a major role in the training within its newly devised pre-professional undergraduate Actor Training Program starting in August 2014. Candidates will have particular expertise in Latino and/or Hemispheric literature and performance traditions. Additionally, the successful applicant will have distinguished and ongoing professional credits in the field; a Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre; demonstrable experience as an instructor at the University level, as well as experience as a professional actor and voice and text coach; research/creative work in Latino or Hemispheric Theatre or Performance; sensitivity to the ongoing balance of theory and practice in an academic environment. Significant leadership, administrative skills, and a commitment to the collaborative and pedagogic missions of the department are a plus.
