Rebecca Fitton

Rebecca Fitton is from many places. She cultivates community through movement, food and conversation. Her work in the dance field as a researcher, administrator, artist and advocate focuses on public policy, labor practices and community organizing. She has worked with Will Rawls, Edisa Weeks, Abigail Levine, Adrienne Westwood, J. Bouey and zavé martohardjono. She was a member of Dance/NYC’s Junior Committee (2018-2020) and a part of the 2021 Dance/USA Institute of Leadership Training cohort. Her practice has been supported by Queens Council on the Arts (New York), and she has been an Artist-in-Residence at Center (Michigan), LEIMAY (New York), EmergeNYC (New York) and The Croft Residency (Michigan). She is a member of Dance Artists’ National Collective. Fitton holds a B.F.A. in Dance from Florida State University and is currently pursuing a M.A. in Theatre with a specialization in performance as public practice at The University of Texas at Austin.
