Texas Performing Arts and Fusebox Festival have selected faculty member Dr. Lisa B. Thompson as their newest TPA x Fusebox resident. With their support, Thompson will workshop and present The Black Feminist Guide to the Human Body in Fusebox Festival 2024.

The Alcalde recently spoke with faculty producer Kirk Lynn and student artistic producer Braxton Rae about the impact of The Cohen New Works Festival and the opportunities it provides for students to experiment with their art.

Every year, Teatro Vivo presents staged readings of new plays through the Austin Latinx New Play Festival. This year's festival includes plays by UT faculty and current students, with collaborators from within the department and across the country.

Earlier this semester, 15 dance students and members of the dance area faculty attended the American College Dance Association (ACDA) South-Central Regional Conference. While there, they performed to acclaim in the ACDA Gala Concert, presented new works of dance and film and participated in over 50 classes and workshops.

Dr. David A. Crespy (M.F.A. 1986) has received a 2022/2023 Fulbright Scholar Award in Research/Teaching, supporting his work in Spain and Greece on a collection of plays entitled Mi Corazón Español Vive Ahora En Grecia: Six Plays of Sephardic Greece.
